5 Key Messages from the Board

  1. The Board received and accepted the report of the independent review of safeguarding in the county. This is to be reported back to agencies and a steering group has been established to take forward the recommendations.
  2. The Board received a report on private fostering in the county. It was noted that the level of fostering arrangements notified to agencies compared favourably with other areas.>
  3. The Board received positive feedback on the implementation of the Common Assessment Framework being steered by the Children and Young People’s Partnership Board and identified a role for the Board in monitoring the impact of this on safeguarding children
  4. The Board received positive feedback on progress with its e-safety initiative.
  5. The Board considered a current Serious Case Review and agreed arrangements to expedite completion of the Review.
